Christy Lennon, owner of Lennon Indexing Services, is a professionally trained indexer with extensive background in the subject areas she indexes.
At Lennon Indexing Services, we believe that knowledge of indexing principles and best practices must be coupled with subject expertise. An indexer who understands the subject matter she is indexing will be better able than the non-expert indexer to anticipate the terms, themes, and subjects that the book's readers will likely search for. Understanding and anticipating readers' needs results in a thorough, insightful index and an accessible, successful book. Christy indexes two main types of books:
(1) Academic/Scholarly books and textbooks in the broad areas of American government, political science, political and social philosophy, and women's studies/feminist politics.
(2) Lifestyle/Trade books, including cookbooks, all culinary-related books, books on nutrition and health, sports and fitness, arts and crafts, and the environment and green-living.
By applying her indexing knowledge to books on subjects that are both academically and intimately familiar, Christy creates indexes that allow quick access to the very essence of books.

- Member of the American Society for Indexing (ASI)
- Formal indexing education through ASI's Training in Indexing course
- Knowledgeable of best indexing practices and current issues through participation in indexer networking and discussion groups and through staying current with indexing literature and ASI publications.
- Attended the ASI Chicago/Great Lakes Chapter Fall 2009 indexing workshops (2 full days)

Academic/Scholarly
- Master of Arts (M.A.) in Political Science from Marquette University (Milwaukee, WI)
- Subjects of special focus in graduate school included feminist politics, constitutional law, American political development, and political philosophy
- Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) from Augustana College (Sioux Falls, SD), double major in Government/International Affairs and Philosophy
- Member of ASI's Scholarly Indexing Special Interest Group
Culinary/Nutrition and Health
- Member of ASI's Culinary Indexing Special Interest Group
- Food industry experience, including work at a French bakery, a grocery store, and a Japanese restaurant
- Experience using cookbooks and their indexes on a near daily basis to cook meals at home
- Hands-on experience making many specialty foods such as wine, cheese, charcuterie, butter, bread, and sushi

- Christy cares deeply about preserving and improving the environment and strives to create a minimal "carbon footprint" through such actions as driving a hybrid car, buying locally produced food, composting, and not using disposable and highly-packaged products.
Sports and Fitness

- Current sports include running, biking, weightlifting, swimming, tennis, and yoga
